Finn Harps F.C. vs Sligo Rovers
Kick-off: 8.00pm, Finn Park, Friday 1st March
Finn Harps manager Ollie Horgan says his side will face a Sligo Rovers side tomorrow night that will be aiming for a victory after picking up just a point from their opening three League of Ireland Premier Division games.
“Sligo might only have a point on the board but they will feel hard done by because they only lost to St Pat’s when Mikey Drennan got a very late goal at the Showgrounds last Friday night. Liam Buckley is building a new side but he’ll be pushing for a place well up the table come the business end of the season. From what I know of their new players there is genuine quality there so it’s up to us to be really up for the game tomorrow night.
Hopefully our lads are recovered enough from the games against Dundalk and Pat’s to give it a right good go at getting the three points. We’ll need the same resolve that we showed defensively against Dundalk and Pat’s to be in with a chance of winning the game. Developing the attacking side of the game is a definite challenge against Premier Division sides like Sligo Rovers. With a bit of luck our midfielders and forwards can create more chances and more importantly knock in a few goals.”
Harry Ascroft and Mark Timlin remain on the injury list while Sam Todd has emerged as a doubt for tomorrow night’s game.
