At a press conference this evening Finn Harps have confirmed that manager Ollie Horgan has signed a two year contract extension. Entering his seventh season with the club, Horgan's tenure has seen Finn Harps move from mid table in the First Division to competing in a ten Premier for the first time ever and ensuring another year in the top flight with last month's playoff win over Drogheda making it four years out of six.
After the announcement, Horgan had praise for the positivity around the club and the commitments made by the board. "It has been very positive after speaking with board members and also people outside the club. There is a great energy and there's hope that we can kick on now. There is a lot of hard work to be put in beyond myself and Paul Hegarty by others behind the scenes. I have high hopes we're headed in the right direction. We're used to challenges and we won't shy away from it"
Finn Harps chairman Sean Quinn remarked "We are delighted to have confirmed Ollie's position for at least another two years and I am sure it is welcome news to Harps supporters everywhere. It is now imperative that we all work together to ensure we can offer Ollie and his management team the resources they require for the 2020 season. I would appeal to all of those with Harps interests at heart to take an active role in ensuring we can grow our current revenue streams and forthcoming fundraising ventures."
