Ollie Horgan is expecting a backlash from Bohemians tomorrow night at Dalymount Park (kick-off 7.45) after Keith Long’s side lost to Sligo Rovers last weekend. “Bohs will be hurting after losing at home to Sligo last Friday night, so that won’t make our job of getting a result any easier. They will be looking to consolidate their third place in terms of Europe qualification and we’re in a mighty battle just to try and stay in the Premier Division. Bohemians have a very good squad and have done really well for most of the season so far. We have lost to them twice already this season. While both results were only 1-0, the reality is that we have no points against them” Horgan said.
Tomorrow night will be the third meeting between the teams in the 2019 Premier Division season. In the first game of the season in the middle of February at Dalymount Park it was 1-0 with Dinny Corcoran getting the goal just before half time. And it was an identical score on April 12th at Finn Park as a 38th minute Daniel McGrath strike settled it in favour of Bohs.
Keith Long’s side enjoyed a really good run in the early stages of the season but their form hasn’t been just as good of late and they lost at home to Sligo Rovers last Friday night. While Bohs are still third in the table, they are now 12 points behind joint leaders Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers. “Look we are 21 points behind Bohemians. They are third in the table against and we are bottom and that is the gap that we have to try and bridge tomorrow night. But, the lads are ready to go and we’re determined to get a result at Dalymount.”
Mark Coyle is suspended after being sent-off for a second yellow card offence against Derry City in the EA Sports Cup quarter-final on Monday night but Jacob Borg returns after serving a one-match ban while Sean Boyd is also available again. However, striker Nathan Boyle is very doubtful after being forced off with an injury at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium on Monday night. Harry Ascroft, Gareth Harkin, Mark Timlin, Ciaran Gallagher, Michael Gallagher and John Kavanagh all remain on the injury list.
