Harps U15s seeking to do double over Derry

The Finn Harps’ U15 side makes the short trip to Maginn Park, Buncrana this evening (Tuesday 7th May) to face Derry City in the second Northwest derby of the season. Kick-off is scheduled for 7pm. The sides played out an entertaining match just ten days ago, with Harps’ taking all three points after a nervy finish.

Conor Loughrey’s men picked up an impressive win away to Mayo Schoolboys League at the weekend and will fancy their chances at home on the immaculate surface at Maginn Park.

Conor Campbell’s last minute strike against Monaghan-Cavan FP gave Harps all three points in a match where both sides cancelled each other out for long periods. Reflecting back on the weekend performance manager Paul McBride said it had been a very difficult game for his side. “Monaghan/Cavan made it extremely difficult for us. We had chances and failed to take them earlier in the match. To be honest, we had settled for a point but when you have a player of Conor’s calibre, he’s got that strike in him in every match. The result gave the boys a massive lift”
