Harps U13s lose to Longford

Finn Harps U13s 1-3 Longford Town

After the high of defeating Derry City in a Northwest derby earlier in the week it was defeat for the Finn Harps U13s  on Saturday against Longford Town at the Moss in Drumoghill. Kevin McHugh’s boys took the lead early in the second half through former Mulroy Academy player Aaron McLaughlin who has impressed in a wide midfield role for the U13s in the brand new National League for this age group.

Longford hit back quickly to make it 1-1 and two further goals late in the game made sure that the visitors went back to the midlands with the three points. It’s not all about winning for these young boys and as McHugh has said consistently this season its much more about learning to play the game in the right manner and developing good habits that will stand these players in good stead in their future careers.
