Finn Harps were delighted to help raise awareness for the previously unknown condition called Mitocondrial, which sadly baby Beibhínn Hegarty Devine passed away from after 10 month battle, 8 of those in the pediatric intensive care unit Belfast.
Beibhinn's father Kevin, a long term Finn Park regular, contacted the club regarding the "Go Green for Mitocondrial" campaign and Harps were delighted to donate a signed jersey for a raffle to raise funds for research, treatment and a cure. Club members also presented the family with a one off green Finn Harps jersey signed by management and players.
To date there is no cure for this condition which will affect 1 in 5000 children by the age of 10, some with devastating effects. For further information see: www.thecharliegardfoundation.org
