Bolger Breaks Harps Hearts Once More

Despite fashioning some good chances and some heroics from Mark Anthony McGinley, Harps once again left Tallght with nothing to show for their effort as another late Greg Bolger was the difference on the night.

Harps should have taken the lead within the first couple of minutes but Alan Mannus did well to save from Harps top scorer Nathan Boyle.

Rovers then took control for the half but despite this couldn't put together any clear cut chances, their best coming from debutant Farrugia's cross but Kavanagh's effort sailed over the bar.

Second half saw Rovers turn the screw and assert themselves on the game. Both Graham Burke and Ronan Finn were frustrated on a couple of occasions having worked the ball into the box only for their shot to be lost in a sea of yellow shirts. Finn also saw a shot palmed onto the post by McGinley.

Despite this pressure it was the Ballybofey side who should have taken the lead with just over 10 mins to go. Again Nathan Boyle was set through one on one but as he rounded the keeper he took the ball just too far wide and giving the Rovers defense a chance to recover.

Harps were made to rue this miss within moments. McGinley pulled off an outrageous double save, first from Dylan Watts and then the follow up from Burke. However from the resultant corner Greg Bolger pinged in a drive from the edge of the box, just as he did earlier in the season when the sides met in Ballybofey.
